Mazda Australia has rolled out its guaranteed future value (GFV) scheme dubbed Mazda Assured, which safeguards a vehicle’s buyback worth when the loan period expires.
The way it works is that a customer will need to select a loan term (between one and four years) for the new or demonstrator Mazda vehicle, while also estimating the number of kilometres they will travel.
Mazda will then provide the GFV amount of the vehicle, as well as a tailored repayment plan.
After the loan period, if the vehicle meets Mazda’s fair wear and tear conditions, and the agreed upon mileage, customers can either pay out the GFV to keep the car or use that amount to trade towards another vehicle.
Mazda Assured is available across all of the brand’s new and demonstration vehicles – including the newly launched CX-30 small crossover, new-generation Mazda3 and chart-topping CX-5 mid-size SUV.
Where a guaranteed future value program differs from a standard lease is that in the case of the latter, the end-of-loan lump sum payment can vary, whereas in the former the figure is set from the start.
Mazda’s new scheme adds to its customer-centric programs including a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty introduced in August 2018 and the rollout of Mazda Finance early last year.
Mazda Australia boss Vinesh Bhindi said: “Customers are at the heart of Mazda’s business and Mazda Assured is another product designed with customer needs in mind.
“We recognise our customers lifestyles change more frequently than they’re able to change their car to suit – be that having children or getting a new job,” he said.
“Mazda Assured allows them to own a new Mazda more often and more suited to their personal circumstances.”
Other brands with similar guaranteed future value programs include Volkswagen, Audi, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus.
